Can we get a status on this? The first post on this was in February with multitudes of people posting the same issue. Has there been any progress in finding a solution?
Hi everyone, just wanted to reassure you that we have been working to try and diagnose some of these errors and make sure that the error messages displayed are more informative. There will be a new release of the AI Assistant being rolled out in the next couple of weeks, so please keep an eye out for announcements. In the meantime, using the Cloud Notebooks should heavily reduce the number of errors shown. Appreciate your patience!
Thanks,
Jack
I still get the same error message.
the reason may be that the total response we can get in free plan are 30 in locan notebook or lab. in cloud server there is only limit of response per day.
may that’s why it stopped suddenly in my local notebook when it hits 30 response.
but why does it not showing the message to upgrade and something. why is it showing error. i think it is compnay’s glitch after 30 responses hits.
There should be someone from Jupyter who can responsibly answer the question to these topic. How can no one from the company say some definitive answer what the error message is about for such a long time?
Hi, Jack here again from Anaconda. @sagarsinghrawat16202 you are correct that it’s likely that you have hit the 30 response limit locally, you can confirm this by trying on nb.anaconda.cloud where you do indeed get a free daily limit. This error can also be caused by a failed connection to the internet or due to issues with the OpenAI API which we use, so always worth closing/opening and trying again a bit later.
There is a new version of the Anaconda Assistant coming out shortly that should contain better error messaging, and I will be sure to post to this channel when it is available, sorry for the delay on this.
Apologies for any confusion and thank you for all the feedback, we do monitor these forums and try to ensure timely responses to all questions. So please continue to post with any questions, suggestions or ideas, and we’ll do our best to include them in our future development.
Thanks,
Jack
Thank you for taking action against this. I hope next update will fix this.
All,
I was also getting the same error. The issue is indeed with a local installation of Anaconda Assistant which only comes with 30 free questions to the assistant. Once you use these it’s over for you unless you switch over to using the cloud version or upgrading to the starter paid version (which uses the cloud). I went ahead and purchased the starter version for $15/month, and once I paid I was able to use the assistant again.
Only downside is that the interface is slightly different than the local version I was using, and I no longer see an option to fire up Jupyterlab (sad) but the interface is not that much different.
Either way, I don’t think Anaconda v4.0.15 has any meaningful way to tell you your local usage of the assistant is used up at 30 uses, and the connection error is in fact b/c you need to switch over to the cloud version. It’s not really a connection error, so don’t wait for a fix; switch over to the cloud version.
If you read the documentation that has been linked by the staff, this will become clear
cheers,
Todd
