I upgraded to a new MacBook on March, 2023, and I find that the new MacBook has a “Apple M2 Max” chip. It appears that the Anaconda distributions are not compatible.

Have you tried downloading the 64-bit (M1) installer? If not, try downloading via the following links:

Command Line Installer
If you run into an issue stating that the insulation failed try using the “Simple Remove” steps listed here.
