When I install the latest Jupyterlab version available (3.4.4) the icon doesn’t appear any more on Anaconda Navigator .
If I update my conda with conda update --all then the icon appears again but Jupyterlab is downgraded to version 3.3.2.
Why is this?

That’s the procedure you took.
When I first update JupyterLab, the JSON file is updated, but conda doesn’t support it and the display disappears.
Then update conda to revert to the oldest version that conda can support.
That is the cause.
