Anaconda assistant error

There was an issue connecting to the Assistant server. Please try again. I am getting this error, can anyone let me know a way to fix it. It gives Minified React error #300 with details: Rendered fewer hooks than expected. This may be caused by an accidental early return statement. How do I fix this???

Hello, Ali2! Is this issue still happening? Can you provide the version of the Assistant you are using? any other information of the versions of other tools in the environment, like Navigator, Python, etc, appreciated

I can give you the version I’m having the same issue with. Like others have posted elsewhere, it worked great for two or three days and since then will not work. This has been going on for me for at least a couple months. I was inspired by my initial experience with the assistant to consider a paid subscription but I’m not going there if this problem and myself and others keep having. I’ve found related post going back nearly a year. I currently have navigator 2.6.4 installed with JupyterLab 4.2.5 and assistant 4.0.15. Last time I went through updating and then removing and reinstalling neither made a differenct.

Hey @fortchagos, can you try updating the Assistant to 4.1.0 and seeing if that helps? We released it just before the holidays and it includes a number of improvements as well as hopefully fixing this bug.
Thanks,
Jack

So I think this issue all boils down to the error message in prior assistant versions that lead to the Minified React error #300. The issue comes down to meeting the max 30 TOTAL AI assistant responses for local notebooks on the Free level. Version 4.1.0 properly displays the message that limit has been reached. Prior version lead to the React error and hence is the cause of confusion. I recommend responding to future users reporting the React with the 30 TOTAL question at the free level as the root issue and that they would need to use cloud notebooks to further use the AI assistant unless they upgrade to at least the Starter level.
